Women of Purpose praise as virtue emanates

Sunday, March 30, 2014 – Decked in purple and armed with a purpose, the women of Lion of Judah came out in numbers to support one another as they took charge of Women’s Day Service. Spearheaded by the women’s department leader Evangelist Charles, the Women of Purpose (as they are known) came forth with a message of virtue. The theme of the day was from Proverbs 31:30 which reads, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”

The speaker for the morning service was Minister S. Campbell; a good friend of Evangelist Charles. For the evening service, the women took turns as they expounded on the characteristics of various women in the bible. This was followed by the main speaker for the night who was our very own Missionary Edwards.

So how do the ladies feel about the turn out for this eventful night? The Women of Purpose had this to say:

“Women’s service was dynamic! The ladies of Lion of Judah represented, adorned in their color purple. They looked “royal!” The Women of Purpose theme was Prov. 31:30; a woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praisedand praised they were. It was such an honor to be a part of it all. I am so proud of them and where God is taking them. May they continue to strive in excellence? To God be the glory.”

–          Sister Kim Samuel

“What an electrifying time it was on Sunday afternoon. The Women of Purpose were on fire. The color for the day was purple which represents wealth, royalty and prosperity. The women spoke about powerful women in the bible – Lydia, Mary, Ruth, and the woman at the well. I was encouraged to be a better Christian. My desire is to walk closer to God each day and to let my light shine so people will see Christ in me.”

–          Sister Blondell Philips

“Arrayed in purple, LOJ’s women of Purpose were stunning in worship and passionate in their praise as they celebrated Women’s Day. The day was capped off with a rousing song by Sister Fran who concluded her brief synopsis of the Woman at the Well in John 4:4-26. The song was a fitting end to the story, ‘The Woman, the Woman, the Woman.’”

–          Pastor Cynthia Gueye

It’s clear the Women of Purpose successfully executed their mission for this day; demonstrating the character of a virtuous woman and inspiring other women to exude these qualities.
